I have lived in Citrus County for 29 years, and have had a bird's eye view of the growth and developement of the this gem on Florida's Nature Coast. I absolutely enjoy education and absorbing information. According to the National Association of REALTORS®, 95% of licensed agents have had a prior career. I was a Flight Line mechanic for Lockheed Aircraft on Kennedy Airport in N.Y.C. prior to the military. I trained and served as an Electronics Tech for the US Air Force Vietnam War Era, after which I worked in Avionics in the private aircraft industry. I then spent 34 years as a City Letter Carrier for the Postal Service, through 2005, with the last 25 yrs serving Inverness and Citrus County, Florida. During my postal days I attended several years of college with my focus on English Literature, and later, Computer Technology. Of course, in those days, one could walk around inside of a computer!
I have brought the traits of Trust, Courtesy, and Professionalism from my Carrier career into my Real Estate profession, as well as my views on Education. Following licensure, I completed the required courses for AHWD At Home With Diversity, and the in-depth GRI Graduate REALTOR Institute designation, and enhanced those by earning a Broker license. I am especially fond of my SRES designation Seniors Real Estate Specialist, which involves consulting with the elderly, as my wife, Genise, and I helped care for our parents over a 10 year period, and gained first hand knowledge of the aging process. In being a Senior and a retired Letter Carrier, and now active in Real Estate, my brand is very suitably: John, the Mailman RETIRED.
.but still delivering!
